increase rep power for rep points given?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question but I don't see a forum for website related questions.

Just curious. I notice when I give someone rep they get 0 points...when they rep me I get plenty of points. When do my reps start resulting in points for the people I am trying to thank for good info?

I searched for a thread on this before I posted here and found nothing so maybe a mod or someone who understands the website can explain.

    Thanks,

You must reach a certian level of rep power before you are able to pass rep points out to others.

right on the money. once you get to a certain rep power youll be able to pass out points when you rep. The more power you have the more points you can dish out. So keep giving people good info or making them laugh and youll get their eventually.

Do you know what that level is? I just repped a bunch of people and they all got zero. I'm over a million rep points so do I need like ten million before they count?

Thanks to anyone who knows the answer to this question.

p.s. To anyone who has received 0 points from me lately...I am not trying to diss anyone, it's just the system.
