Question about prep for ss comp in pageant
I hope no one is insulted by me asking about this. I compete in beauty pageants and will be in Miss KY USA in late November. I competed last year and got 1st Runner up and I want to win this time. One of my problems has always been the swimsuit competition and I can't seem to get the answers I need from anyone in pageantry.
I don't tan well at all and would like to know which product would give me a deep golden tan that looks natural both up close and on stage. I need something that doesn't rub off on clothing since I'll be changing several times, but it doesn't have to be a self-tanner. I always have problems with streaks when I use self tanners, so bronzers seem like they'd be better. I have black hair and brown eyes if that is pertinent. Also, I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me some tips on diet and excercise for the competition. My goal is to have a long streamlined look with awesome legs. I would also like to have definition in my arms. I have major problems getting any size in my calves, which makes my legs a bit disproportionate. I know you guys are much more serious about fitness than I will ever be, but that's why I came here to get some answers. I've competed for eight years and still am unsatisfied with the products and information that I've found through other methods. Sorry for the dissertation. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated! |

- Pro Tan works pretty well and looks pretty natural if you already have a base tan.
- As to your other questions, I would need to know what type of diet and training regimen you currently use in order to troubleshoot it. |

Your questions are not inappropriate for such a board, as many people here have other goals first, and fitness second. Personally, I think Protan doesn't look good up close. And I am not sure what does, as I have only needed it "under the lights". As to training and diet, I am guessing that you have not partaken in a serious lifting regimine. Such an endeavor would be worthwhile given your goals. Typically, pageant "training" is not very healthful (extreme diets, etc). A good workout program, over the long haul can help overcome your genetic predispositions. |

My daughter just got back from Miss NC in the Junior court. Since I see alot of pagaent girls, I'm familiar somewhat with them. The spray on tan that is hot, is the best looking. It is not cheap, but gives a good looking tan! If you are not familiar with it I can give you some links.

Well, I have done around 15 contests and I feel that with a small base tan and one or two carefully applied coats of Pro Tan you will look quite natural.
Dream tan looks bad up close and Jan Tana looks ok for some, but not others. The new spray booth tans work pretty well, but I prefer Pro Tan over them all. |
