Just in case anyone is interested here is my quickee review of this past weekend's Ironman Pro show that was held in Pasadena California...
Well, I got to see the show from about the 4th row and did my best to catch it all while taking notes for my review for Human Muscle Performance magazine. Here is my quickee assessment for anyone that might care, LOL...
Dexter Jackson: Not quite as good as at the SOS but still is simply awesome. Hard as nails and full as can be. He won this show but not by a landslide in my opionion. I would like to see him with just a tad more chest mass and slightly more seperation in the rectus femoris.
Lee Priest: Better at prejudge than at the night show. His upper body was vascular, full, and hard. His legs were massive and shaped, but as usual, not very dry. If his legs could ever get as hard as his upper body he would be right there with Dexter and top 4 Mr O material. Also, he needs to make his posing routine more interesting.
Gustavo Bedell: He easily was as hard as Dex and was the only man that could match Dex in the sides of his thighs/glute/ham tie ins. He was pretty big at 235, dry, vascular, and confident. He was a real shock and at the end of the day deserved second place.
Ahmed Hadair: I love his physique...it is so nice to look at. He is like Lee Labrada or Bob Paris in that he is beautifully proportionate and balanced. He looks good in every pose and carries himself so well onstage. If he was a tad dryer and harder he could have challenged for second.
Craig Titus: Looked ok. His waist is still wide and his back is still watery. He needs more chest and glutes and can be several notches sharper. He apparently thought he should have been in the top 2-3 by the way he acted onstage during the callouts and when he was awarded his trophy. In actuality he should have placed 6th behind...
David Henry: As dry and crisp as Dex and Gustavo! Tiny waist and a Flex Wheeler type of physique, but smaller. He was "nails" everywhere! Incredible lat and low back striations, but doesn't pull his lats out during rear lat spreads though. With 15 lbs more muscle, if he keeps his waist as is, he will be a future giant killer.
Biggest dissapointment: Bob Chic! He was heavy, watery, and holding fat in his hams and glutes. He needed to drop 15 lbs to be truly competitive. He has a fantastic physique, but keeps it covered up by trying to be a "bigger" man than he really is. I'd love to see him really dry and hard at about 235 or so.
