    When to get a trainer?

Hi everyone. I've decided to enter a competition this summer, probably in July. It's the only one I know the date of for sure, but there are at least two others near that time also. I've been working out for several years, and I've been around competitors before who trained for competitions. I've seen what goes into it. I feel knowledgeable enough (about exercise and nutrition) to train on my own for a while. But when should I enlist the help of a trainer? I know of two possible trainers that I could get to help me. Finances are somewhat of an issue, so I'd like to go as far as I can on my own to save a little money.

I will try to post some pics in the near future also.

My current stats are 5'7", 130 lbs, 18% BF.

if you know your body and know what you are doing and have dieted before you should be able to get in competion shape on your own and about 4-6weeks out you may want to get someone to help you out and prepare the last 3 weeks....training, diet, carb loading, water depletion...etc...
