    Dehydration

I was at the FAME centrals bodybuilding competition today, and all of the women said the worst thing about bodybuilding was the dehydration. Why is this? Why do they have to dehydrate themselves? Don't they have to keep drinking a lot during their workouts and immediately prior to the competition (and throughout) in order not to look too flat?

So how long are they actually dehydrated for? How much water do they drink? Is there a ratio of L.: LBM??

depends on the person and what is right for their body. Most have been competiting long enough and have tried may differnet "contest week" varaitions to know how to hit their peak. Usually, for the first timer, you taper water off and then you drop it out sometime friday before the show.
