US and Canadian Based Bodybuilding Organizations
Sign Mutual Support Agreement
Coconut Creek, FL & Toronto, Canada - The presidents of the US based National Gym Association (NGA) and the Canadian based International Drug Free Athletics (IDFA) signed an agreement today that pledges mutual support and cross promotion of the two federations.
Andrew Bostinto, president of the NGA and Shaun Campbell, president of the IDFA agreed to several initiatives including allowing amateur and professional card holding members to crossover and compete in the other organization without having to purchase an additional membership card for that organization.
The NGA and IDFA will promote each federation’s contests to their members and on their websites.
According to Bostinto and Campbell, this agreement is a way to bring athletes from the US and Canada to each other’s contests, which will encourage positive cultural exchanges and camaraderie.
Both organizations will recognize each other’s Pro athletes (Pro Card holders) and will allow them to compete in their Pro Shows.
“We will allow NGA pros to compete in IDFA Pro contests and the NGA will allow IDFA Pros to compete in NGA Pro contests,” Campbell said.
“Both the NGA and IDFA promote natural bodybuilding, fitness and figure competitions. This arrangement between the NGA and IDFA is a great way to promote the “natural” side of the sport in our two countries,” Bostinto said.
