Thread: 2008 Mr. Olympia Preview: Can Jay Make It A Three-Peat?

It will be interesting to see what happens this year... if Jay does take another sandow home, next year with Martinez, Warren, and Greene it will be even more exciting!

I honestly cant believe Jay won MR.O the 1st time, much less the 2nd. Im sorry,but he just dont have the MR.O body. He is lacking something. Cant really put my finger on it.

This Dennis Wolf looks fantastic though. Im no fan of anyone so its just my simple views.

Honestly Coleman should have won over Jay...Coleman has fuller muscles and is just freaky in size and shape. He is by far the best MR.O has ever had.

Jay does lack vasularity, but he will win again....and I feel he totally has the better overall package compared to Ronnie Coleman. He keep up with the size guys, and has the semetry of the small guys...can you ask for more?

Ronnie Coleman is the least of Jay's worries.

i have always thought dexter jackson was insane. that guy gets shredded in ways no one else is capable of. ive always thought dexter deserved it

how tall is jay? and how tall is dexter? shit put you next to kefe and kefe looks tiny as hell. putting kefe into perspective and the kid is huge. now i recognise that this is not completly analagous, but i think it highlights my point.

my point is you can take many bodybuilders and alone they look like the next Mr. O until you put them in the line-up, then the picture changes...although, one small bodybuilder that did manage to beat the giants was Lee Labrada, but that was a different era.

the guy has won the arnold and placed how high in the O how many times? its not like he is a schmuck or something. for how tall he is dexter has packed on crazy amounts of muscle and his conditioning is easily way better than jay across the board. of course my limited judgement has always been through pictures. Ive never made it to vegas for the O. I think dexter brings more of the all around picture than jay does. jay is massive no doubt, but if it was only about size others would be able to knock jay off

Jay has flaws, and so does Dexter. Without a doubt Dexter is way smaller, his frame is not an X like Jay. Jay's legs make Dexters look very small...Dexter lacks calves....Dexter has a long mid-section giving him higher lats and the appearance of a long abdomen...His chest isn't thick enough....Dexter has great arms that look almost cartoonish in person...its amazing...but he has pretty narrow shoulders...(big narrow ones)....so his arms, and his conditioning are the only strong points I can say he has equal or superior to Jay. His abs are great, but that long abdomen is odd.

nice assessment, I agree, especially on Dexter's legs.

I don't understand why so many people rip on Jay, his only real flaw is he just lacks vascularity, but there is nothing he can do about it. His physique is near flawless and he is huge, not to mention he is a class act in my opinion. I have met him a few times, I even bought his DVD, and I am happy to see a guy like Jay Cutler representing pro bodybuilding.

i heard whether he wins or loses he will retire.. supposedly his wife wants to have kids and she wants him stay home

I'm with you on this. He is the total compromise between size and semetry. He is the the total package, and if he was more vascular he would probably be see in a different light by more people, but you cannot ignore everything else.

I have met him like 5 times now and he is super down to earth and puts on great guest poses. We could not ask for a better person to represent the sport.
