How many calories on a bulk if working out twice a week?
Im going to be bulking as of next month. I plan on having 500 calories over maintenance everyday. I a going to be doing a full body routine which is only twice a week for me. Should I still have 500 extra cals every day? because i wanna gain as minimum amount of fat as i can

500 calories over maintenance is a good starting point.

It will depend on how fast your metabolism is and how easily you tend to gain body fat. If you find that you can eat a lot of food without gaining weight, 500 over may be right on the dot.
At two workouts a week though, I think I'd lean more towards 500 calories above on workout days and more like 250-300 on non-workout days. If you don't mind gaining body fat, then you could try 500 every day, but otherwise, you may want to be a bit more conservative. Real world experience will tell you what you need to do though. |
