is tuna the way to go?
I weigh about 182lbs and my question is can I maintain a good protein source through tuna? I have had open heart surgery and have had a stroke, my health is on the way back as I am attending cardiac rehab at my local hospital but once I get down the gym can I go onto whey protein as a source of nutrition?

Yes. The protein from the tuna is interchangeable with the protein from the whey protein supplement.
I'd recommend monitoring the other macronutrients that are present in both sources as well.

once I start my training regime what would be best to have the tuna with. I understand that whey protein drinks as a post training drink get straight to the muscles you have trained but what else is available and safe to take for someone in my position.

Find out how any grams of each macronutrient (i.e fats, protein, carbohydrates) you need, and reach those levels daily. You can mix and match your foods however you see fit. There's a link in my signature that can give you some information on how to determine your intake needs. Feel free to take a look. Quote:
In terms of what? Supplementation? 10g fish oil every day (you can find this almost anywhere --you are looking for 3g of Total EPA/DHA) - multivitamin -creatine monohydrate (Cold Fusion EX provides for an excellent source of creatine monohydrate)

I am taking a 1000mg cod liver oil tablet in the morning along with 1800 mg of epillim and 500 mg of keppra. I am on the last two for seizures due to me suffering since my problems in the new year.
