    Almond Oil

Sweet Almond Oil is an extremely popular oil sought after for its rich concentration of oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids. Almond oil is used in the cosmetic industry for its penetrating, moisturizing and restructuring properties. Almond Oil is also used as a massage oil and is valued as a carrier oil when used with essential oil for aromatherapy.

    Oleic acid 64 to 82 %
    Linoleic acid 8 to 28 %
    Palmitic acid 6 to 8 %
Almond oil rich in beta-sitosterol, squalene and alpha-tocopherol.

Is a pale golden colour and has a very faint smell. Sweet Almond oil contains Vitamin A, B1, B2, and B6. It also contains Vitamin E, which is a natural anti-oxident. Almond oil is also beneficial for skin condions such as eczema due to the fact that it boosts the anti-inflammatory action in the body.

In addition to being used as a food oil, Almond Oil is also an excellent moisturiser and skin care oil, and is often used by massage therapists. Ancient Egyptian beauty cream formulas called for Almond Oil for its healing properties as well as its cosmetic appeal.

FMD Organic Almond Oil consists of: 80% oleic acid, 15% linoleic acid (omega 6), 5% palmitic acid. Size available 250 mls

    Linoleic acid 54 to 65 %
    Palmitic acid 6 to 8 %
    Stearic acid 1 to 3 %

    Fatty Acid Profile
California walnuts have a healthy fatty acid profile, made up of mostly polyunsaturated and monounsaturated (14%) lipids. There are two classes of polyunsaturated fatty acids -- omega-6 and omega-3. Walnuts are a good source of alpha linolenic acid (ALA), the parent compound of the omega-3 family. Most vegetable oils used in our diets are rich sources of the omega-6 fatty acids. Scientists believe that the optimal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is around 4:1. Current ratios in the US diet range from 14:1 to 20:1. Including walnuts can help decrease the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio in our diet, which nutritionists believe would be beneficial to health. One ounce of walnuts (28.35g) provides 2.57g of ALA. although the United States has not specified the exact amount required, the recommended dietary intake of the omega-3 family has been established by other countries (eg., Canada, Denmark, Japan and the United Kingdom), of approximately 1 to 2 grams per day.

I'd keep the almond oil for massages and use walnut oil instead
