    Isocaloric Diet

Has anyone used one for an extended period of time with success, either for maintaining or gaining weight w/ little increase in body fat ?
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I have used it for only short periods of time, but it works great. I have talked to and heard from numerous others that have had great success on this type of diet. It can work for pretty much any goal, loss, maintenance, gains. For maintaining, its a pretty practical, easy to follow approach w/ much less restriction than most diets. For gaining, I haven't used it personally, but it would be reasonable to assume that its a good ratio since it allows adaquete protein, adaquete fat (EFA's if done properly, as well as some mono and even saturated fat) since it is helpful in increasing testosterone levels. Actually, 30% fat is more beneficial than 20% in increasing test. levels, but anything above that doesn't offer much additional benefit, so the fat level is ideal for at least certain hormones, and it allows adaquete carbs, which are really needed to gain a reasonable amount of muscle, but it doesn't overemphasize carbs which many "bulking" diets do, which usually lead to more way more fat gain than muscle.

I don't know specific details, but i think it centers around the fact that your ratios are 1:1:1 P/F/C.

And the 1 remaining percent is sent to my bank account, usually in the form of a blank cheque

LAM, as long as your cals are up you'll be good for gaining.

As far as cutting, i'll admit i prefer lower carb diets, purely because i find that i stick to them easily and don't get any nasty cravings. Hunger is nulled much more too.
