Why wife is trying to lose weight...NEED HELP

My wife is trying to lose weight. We are going to start working out. Whats a basic 3 -day workout for her.

    MON-chest/tri/shoulders (what exercises to do?)
    TUE-abs/ stretch/rest
    WED-legs (what exercises to do?)
    THUR-back/bi (what exercises to do?)
    FRI-rest/stretch
    SAT-rest/abs
    SUN-rest

    She has never worked out?
I know the diet needs to change, just getting the workout part down?
How much cardio and how often?

Like the majority here, I would recommend switching priorities and getting your diet in order first, and then work on a solid workout routine.

The mantra is true; diet is the most important factor in permanent fat loss.
