    Losing fat

I figured out my bmr , and th calories i need to keep my weight, after factoring it out i need 1800 a day to lose 2 lbs a week. Is that too fast?

how should i split my carbs/proteins/fats?

Im not trying to bulk, i am trying to lose fat and maintain muscle definition

I think 1800 is too low, 2200 sounds better ...many people like to cut on 50/20/30 P/C/F.

like w8 said 1800cals is too low. BMR=Basal Metabolic Rate. Its the calories that you burn by just laying in bed all day, doing absolutely nothing. It doesn't take into account the various activities that you do during the day. AMR=Active Metabolic Rate. It's a little bit more accurate. A pretty good calculator:

These are estimates however, and the only real way to find your AMR is to log calories and weigh in and all that jazz.

Yep, you could easily log what you eat for a few days and subtract what you want.

Maybe, I believe calculating a percentage to lose per week would probably be better, for people that are obese then its not the same as someone who is lighter at least as far as general medicine is concerned.

For someone as light as you it seems like alot to loose per week, but I don't know how tall you are either. Are you currently excersizing or just all diet?

Nick...In my opinion...you only need to start lifting weights....once you begin adding muscle your bodyfat will drop on it's own. I would really concentrate on lifting weights and adding muscle and not be thinking about cardio or "cutting"...seriously, muscle burns calories, make it your priority and you will see your body composition change for the better.
