    Do veggies count?

Do you count the green fiberous veggies in your overall calorie numbers or are they just throw in like a suppliment?
I've read a couple articles on the subject of cutting and more than once it outlines how to calculate the required calories and the percentages of macros. But then goes on to say something like "after getting those numbers, add in 3 or 4 servings of veggies for fiber."
To me that implies that you don't include to carbs or protein those veggies might contain, you consume them simply as a fiber and nutrient suppliment.
    Which is correct?

It won't make a difference either way, unless you are eating a shitload of fibrous veggies.

Just be consistent in how you keep track of things.

See, thats exactly my point.. on my new cutting thing, I'm only getting 33 carbs per meal. If I have say.. a half cup of peas for instance, well, thats 10 grams of carbs. Do I count those carbs or eat my regular 33 grams of carbs in addition to the veggies?
It makes sense to me to include them which I've been doing.. but again, if I'm not supposed to include them, then I'm not accounting for 40 grams of carbs throughtout the day.

40 grams of carbs is 160 calories...really it is trivial in the scope of things.

Keep track or not doesn't matter.

I think it depends on the individual and the complexity of his or her goals.(or the degree of O.C.D. from which they suffer, lol) From what I've read here, accounts tend to vary.... many with a more advanced training background and/or less BF/ higher lean mass tend to omit vegetables entirely. As for me, I've always counted eveything simply because I need to count everything. Normally I will count net carbs (carbs-fiber, generally)...just seems like a reasonable way to keep a decent average on the macros.
Like IainDaniel said, just be consistent....

On carb restricted programs it's my understanding that you DON'T count fibrous veggies towards your total carb count.

That said, if you eat a crap load of veggies, in the end, it's still calories in and calories out, so you don't want to go completely bezerk.
