What is a low carb diet?

    Hi guys

I've been eating on a calorie deficit now for a while. 2 questions. When trying to keep carbs low what is a good number? I usually try to stick under a 100g per day but when I calculated in today what I was planning on eatng it came up with 148g. Apparently 400g of chicken thigh cooked has 41g of carbs.

Another question when refeeding on carbs how many calories above what I have been eating should I aim for? And how many grams of carbs should I get in? Can I just go nuts and eat carbs carbs carbs?
    Thanks

I think your carbs should be comprised of whatevers left over after you've accounted for the recommended protein and fat percentages.
For example, if you're eating 1.5-2g of protein per lb of bodyweight and 0.5 grams of fat per lb of bodyweight, whatever amount of calories thats left over to meet your calorie target is carbs.

So today I tried refeeding. Started with a big bowl of oatmeal, lunch was pancakes with maple syrup and dinner was a tonne of spaghetti marinara, fllowed by ff icecream. I feel so so bloated and horrible now, is that normal?

    Normal.

Watch the fat on refeeds. Like that syrup.

And stick to high GI carbs at the start of the refeed and integrate slower digesting carbs (i.e. oatmeal) later.

Yep, refeeds are not fun for me. Even when I throw in some fun junk food. You will feel bloated probably, and yes you really want to watch the fat. THis is my weakness. My refeeds usually are way too dirty, thus way high in calories than need be. Your calories will have to be higher so you really need to watch it.
