Hey guys just wondering if it is better to eat smaller breakfasts or bigger ones......I always seem to eat a lot of food at breakfast because I wake up hungry....i've heard that it is probably better to eat smaller breakfasts but right now im trying to bulk so maybe its ok. Heres what I usually eat for breakfast:
eggs w/ ketchup
banana
bowl of oatmeal
bowl of cheerios w/ skim milk
wheat bagel sometimes w/ cream cheese
and a muffin
Just let me know what you think of this diet. Is this okay for someone who is on a bulk to eat? thanks for your help guys.
Looks like a lot of starch and sugar with a drop of protein. Whats the rest of your day look like? What you eat at night might have you craving when you wake up.
Ham and turkey sandwich on wheat bread
protein shake
and an apple or salad
So i don't eat too much after my workout thats usually about it and I always wake up ready to eat and eat a big breakfast. Should I be eating more at night after my workout then???
Breakfast should contain mostly protein IMO, of which you've got very little in what you are eating depending on how many eggs.
Have you run the macros?

protein + lowGI carbs such as oatmeal

Daaaang...I think you need to throw a bag of Dixie Crystals in there...maybe some Maple Syrup, lol. I'd say that's a tad high on the carbs.
Bulking or not, breakfast for me usually consists of protein/fat, (eggs, chicken breast) and varying levels (usually minimal amounts of) of slow burning carbs..if carbs at all. I usually opt for steel cut oats, or some rough cut, minimally processed variety...Definately NOT INSTANT.
Like Robert said in another post...Eat like a king in the morning, a Prince at mid-day, and a peasant at sunset. Sort of a dietary Riddle of the Sphinx.
I also try to center my carb intake/levels around workouts....Built had a write-up about this somewhere.
I often feel sluggish after I eat also any ideas as to what causes this feeling???
A combination of increased blood flow to your digestive area and away from other parts, and a blood sugar spike/slump. Shit like someone else said, after eating like this I would too. How about you try something like meat, veggie and brown rice. And how many times a day are you eating? is this it? A big breakfast and a sandwich for dinner? How many calories are you taking in a day?
You may have seen the various studies that say you should eat a big breakfast for maximum energy and cognitive ability during the first half of the day. Then you might have read about the researchers who say you should eat very small meals throughout the day for maximum fat burning and control of glucose distribution.
The energy required to get the human body running smoothly starts with food, and the processing of glucose and glycogen. Think of your body as a hybrid car.
Burning Fat
Your body switches from glucose to fat burning mainly in response to two key hormones -- insulin and glucagons -- these are produced by your pancreas.
Carbs or Protein for Breakfast?
Carbs are one of three necessary macronutrients that provide calories in our diets. The other two are protein and fat. Carbs provide most of the energy needed in our daily lives, both for normal bodily functions (such as heartbeat, breathing, digestion, and brain activity) and for exercise (like biking, walking, running up the stairs and all types of resistance training).
