    Exclamation Fat Loss Help!!

Hi all, this is my first post on here so bare with me =]. I'm not really a newbie, I've been in and out of training for about 5+ years. So I know my way around the gym pretty well. My problem is that I always slack off every now and then due to various reasons. I'm looking to start back up with an intense diet/workout routine that will burn fat while maintaining LBM if not gaining more. I've been reading up on some diets by Lyle McD and the BODYOPUS diet but I've never know anyone to actually use them and like all newbs i was wondering if i could get your opinion on whats gonna get me results as fast as possible. I'm open to taking any supplements including maybe even cycling an AAS. Currently I'm 5'11" 220 with about 20% BF.

I think there are some good people w/ experience w/ Lyle's diets. The one thing I will add is that you don't need to even worry about steriods until you've become VERY SOLID w/ your well-established diet & training program that is producing the results you want. Steroid use = self-medicating w/ hormones - i.e. you're screwing w/ your hormone balance - this is the most fundamental part of what makes up how your body works, including your moods. Very, very important to not look at it as "fat loss supplement". Absolutely no need to go there for you. In fact, even more, don't spend your time looking for the "ultimate diet pill" or any other supplement to do the work that a basic & consistent diet & training program will do. There are no short cuts - just do it & make it your lifestyle. Very simply - your body will respond to optimized fueling & energy demands.

I've been doing the PSMF (protein sparing modified fast)...Now known as Rapid Fat Loss. It's fairly strict (I'm strict with it anyway), a little boring , but simple, straight forward, and effective IF FOLLOWED PROPERLY.

FMJ has been doing the UD 2.0 thang...he may have some input as well.

Like sassy said, see how far you can go naturally before considering steroids. Yeah, they have their place, but you might be surprised how far you can go on your own.

    Good Luck

thanks guys. i honestly wasn't looking too into aas, i heard clen helps a lot as a thermogenic, but then again clen isnt a steroid. but about the PSMF, what type of results are you getting? is it the one by lyle mcd or the bodyopus? most of the diets call for only 2-3 workout days, it sounds a bit ludicrous to me though...

Well, you have to first consider the purpose of the workout(s). In the case of PSMF, the objective of the workout is to maintain LBM...THAT'S IT. No gains, no growth (or minimal for the average lifter if any) it is all about losing fat.....and it works.

As of today, (after about six weeks) I've lost 22lbs. Most of that was lost during the first four and a half weeks. You can find all of the information you need on Lyle's Rapid Fat Loss, UD 2.0, Stubborn Fat Solution, Protein, etc. here:

BodyRecomposition Support Forums - Powered by vBulletin

Or go to the BodyRecomposition home page, there are endless articles to read there as well. I recommend that you read the FAQ's and stickies first before asking any questions....otherwise, Lyle will direct you to one of the articles I mentioned, tell you to read the book, or otherwise respond in a less than warm and fuzzy manner.

IF you decide to do PSMF/RFL....a couple of things.

    1.)READ the book.
2.)Plan to exercise complete self discipline....I mean, crazy, you'll want to kill people (initially), ultra-strict, no nonsense discipline.
3.)Follow the diet and workouts AS WRITTEN. Your results will depend on this.

If you do this particular diet, check out my journal. Yes, there is a lot of goofing around there, but the information is also there.
If you think UD 2.0 is your preference, keep an eye on FMJ's journal. We both started our diet at about the same time.

    Good Luck.

Right now I'm doing the CKD diet. I've lost 9lbs of fat in just under four weeks and about a pound of muscle. Google CKD for more info. It is a ketogenic diet that requires a 12-36 hr period of high carbs once a week. They say the leaner you get the longer your carb up should be. I weigh 190 and am about 12% BF now.
I bought a nice digital food scale and I weigh and measure all of my food with the exception of the carb up period and I track my calories on mydailyplate.com. You are supposed to eat high GI carbs and low fat with moderate protein during the carb up. So far it has been successful for me and I hope to be 8% BF by the end of May beginning of June.

I'm just about finishing up a twelve week cycle of the UD2.0 by Lyle McD. So far, I'm pretty happy with the results. I was already pretty lean to start with, witch is why I wanted a diet that would allow me to keep my muscle mass. It really depends how lean you are though. If you are leaner, then the UD 2.0 would probably be a good choice (the workouts are brutal if followed correctly with a good tempo but the diet itself is pretty easy. The low carbs make you feel less hungry)

If you are not as lean, you would probably be able to get away with even a more rapid approach like The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook by Lyle McD.
