Best to have a protein shakes ASAP after working out, your body is looking for fuel and you need to get that protein into you.

whole milk has too much fat; skim is better.

Here is exactly what I do and I get results:

Before your morning cardio: Take 10g. BCAA's. This will help prevent muscle catabolism during your workout.

DO NOT eat right after your workout. Your body is in a highly metabolic state and you are still burning fat. Eating will put a stop to this. Instead, when you're done with your workout, take another 5-10g. BCAA's.

Eat half an hour to an hour after your cardio workout. A full meal consisting of protein, carbs and fat.

This would make sense if you were doing a regular weight lifting workout, but not for right after cardio. Wait a half hour to an hour after your workout to eat.

Like I said your body is still burning fat after your cardio and eating anything will stop this fat burning effect. Or at least slow it down.

Interesting strategy with the BCAAs. I must try this. Got a brand you like, weightgainnet?
Wondering where to start? Confused? "Homework 1" will get you started.

Think you're ready for the "next step"? Take this test.

Will this occur with any type of cardio? I do Javorek complexes, HIIT and LISS throughout the week and want to know if this occurs on those types of protocols.

Actually, it isn't true for any type of cardio. Published research shows that post-workout fat-burning continues, even in the presence of carbohydrate.
