Eating too much or too little - Trying to find that balance

While trying to build muscle while simultaneously losing body fat, it can be difficult to find that "right balance" and not eat too much or too little. Right now I'm in that "experiment and monitor" phase yet haven't found that right balance quite yet.. How did you find your balance?

Trail and Error. Keep track of macros that are hit daily and make changes if needed.

First you need to find your maintenance. Eat a certain amount of calories per day for a week. If you gain weight, its too much, if you lose weight its too little. If you stay the same, that's your maintenance.

Um yea don't hold your breath. Like Built said, it's pretty much impossible unless you're new or coming off a long layoff.
