Get an iron grip on your diet, leave yourself enough time to get there slowly, diet off the weight and use lifting to protect the muscle... oh, and 5%? Make sure you're male.

Oh yes, and of course gear. Won't help unless you run a deficit, though.

Enough protein, heavy weight training and a deficit = low body fat

This varies per person. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with what's currently accepted in your particular social circle.

The only way to find out is to eat the best diet possible and track your intake.

for the most part getting to a new low amount of body fat takes some work. the human body fights to retain fat stores for fear of future famine, etc. that being the case the time and dieting/training techniques used to get to 5% is different for a person at 8% than another at 20%. also the longer a person has been "fat" the harder their body will fight to remain fat.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Diet is the key, of course.

5% is increadably low. I think the lowest I've ever been was 7%, and I was pretty cut.

Getting there could be easier than STAYING there....

Either way it'll take patience I reckon. 5% is a low bodyfat for sure.
