dehydrated?

I helped my girlfriend tweak her diet in order for her to better meet her goals and since she began, she's been getting pounding headaches. I don't know if she has migraines, but there is a direct link to the drop in calories and her headaches. It's not like she's overweight, it's not like shes dropping calories by all that much, why is this happening?
dehydrated?

any idea of what her macros could be or at least an estimate?
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I wish she would implement a strict diet, but that doesn't fit into her lifestyle. It's completely inconsistent in terms of the foods she's eating, but I have her hovering between 1250-1750 calories, with a goal of 1500 calories per day.
If she has a coupe slices of pizza for dinner with a friend and is closer to 1750, she'll make up for it the following day by eating closer to 1250.
She's been getting better with increasing her protein, but still isn't at the 40/40/20 ratio I'd prefer for her. 33/33/33 is more like it.
So, what gives?
How long has it been going on?
Is she on any specific medications that might be causing this?
Is she supplementing at all with vitamins or anything like that?
Why hasn't she seen a physician?

Mu wife suffers from migraines, and her Doctor has helped a great deal.

hmmmm...this is a noodle scratcher there's a lot of study out there showing that elevated insulin and blood lipids can cause migraines so a decrease in cals, carbs and fats "should" cause a decrease in headaches/migraines in some. with an inconsistent diet like your wife has hard to pinpoint the possible dietary cause of this.
what about the obvious things like has she decreased caffeine intake, simple sugars, etc.?

Could be stress-related, and not even related to diet

How tall, what does she weigh etc.
I see no problem with this approach.
Why percentages? What's so special about 40/40/20? Is the 20% supposed to be fat? This may not be a great approach, especially not for women. My diet is usually about 50-60% of calories from fat.
Re migraines - mine went away when I did Atkins (high-fat keto diet) and never returned.
Without keto, back then, any reduction in calories and I would get WICKED headaches.
