Wow, i swear, i just posted pretty much the same thing in that thread you linked before even reading this one!
Scary or what.
w8 and DPw8 are being thought of as........ by the general population....INCORRECTLY
Number One Correction
DPw8 does not stand for low carb, high protein & high fat diets! When you people think of these terms...you assume a high fat, zero carb, ketogenic type of diet.
Prime example
Clarification
1) Our posted diets do not represent ALL of our Nutritional Plans
We have given diets of all different macronutrient breakdowns. No, you will never see us give out a diet where fat comprises a ridiculously low figure like 10% of total calories. EFA's are called such for a reason...they are essential! One thing that always remains consistent w/ our plans is the absence of sugar and rapid-burning carbohydrates, w/ the exception of post workout in certain individuals
2) 30% (that we use in some plans) Fat IS NOT High fat as compared to a typical American diet .........or any TKD or CKD
3) Low carbs...are synonymous with Ketogenic diets and we have NEVER gone that low...nor put anyone in a ketogenic state. Most of our clients get oatmeal, apples, berries, sweet potatoes and more.
Previous ThreadQuote from DP
It's not that you want to be on the edge of ketosis, it's that you want to control insulin/glucagon production! Low and stable insulin levels promote fat oxidation (Lipolysis). The best way to induce this is lower carbs, slow burning carbs in small quanties when you do ingest them, and always getting protein and these carbs with fat and or fiber to control insulin surges!
DP
So if you want to know ask...don't assume... don't infer...and PLEASE don't associate us narrow mindedly with any single Nutritional Program.
