Ultimate Diet II - what I dont like about it!

. . don't get me wrong, Ive had some good results from it and the science makes sense.

. . but I think it has some serious imperfect to it, of which I am referring to the training side of the system.

. . those depletion work outs, and the lack of carbs naturally lead to poor/non-existant recovery . .

. .even after 36 hours of refeed, my body is sore and aching . . a function of age (late 30's) . . possibly. Now when I hit the final power workout, I find Im getting injured . . this is the issue.

It makes no difference if Im geared or ungeared, Ive run it both ways. Currently Ive done a slight shoulder strain, but three days into maintenence Im still sore.

. . so I'd like to hear from others who use this system . . Built, Juggernaught . . you have the same issues? Maybe Im too old damn it!

I am currently running it as a natural and I am constantly sore like you describe. Considering that we're doing 4 full body workouts/week, I expected as much.

In the beginning, I was running into sore joints, until I realized that I wasn't taking enough fish oil in. When I upped it, that went away.

As far as my power workout, I'm not finding any loss of strength or worried about being injured.

word on the fish oil . . I was dropping 2g per meal, so thats 12g right there so maybe not enough? Still need to keep the fat down, and sometime at work I dont have control over some of the sat fat content.

but that being said, I am getting injured . . and still not fully recovered when the next week rolls around

    Capn, a few things:
The depletion workouts should not make you sore. Getting sore will actually interfere with the carbups later on - if you are sore from the depletion workouts, back off the weight a bit.

The power workouts - you may be STRONG enough to train that heavy, but you're dieting. Back off the weights just a smidge. Lift heavier when you've got enough food to make sure you recover properly.
Wondering where to start? Confused? "Homework 1" will get you started.

Think you're ready for the "next step"? Take this test.

ok, maybe my idea of depletion is skewed . . Im using supersets and trisets than basically burn me out, which I am presuming is depleting all glycogen . . at which point should I pull back?

Do you have a recommended depletion workout?

No, you're doing 'em right, but perhaps not quite so heavy?
