Do i have a diet related problem?

Hi everyone...just wanted your views on this please...i am new here so hello to everyone too.

I feel i may have a problem with food which is leading me to not relax and not enjoy aspects of life which i really should be doing...i eat clean all of the time and i dont seem to be able to enjoy something which i crave from time to time.

I am a serious trainer...high committment and dedication...train 4-5 times per week with very high intensity.

I think the last time i had something 'not clean' was around 20 weeks ago...here in New Zealand we have a nice restaurant and i ate there...but this was the last time i can remember i had something out of the normal...i always eat chicken...eggs...and things which i would consider clean.

My girlfriend is very supportive...she loves me training and doing what i do...but there are times when she suggests going out or just getting some food at home like ice cream and some 'treats' and watching a film...but i dont feel i can let go.

I dont have any plans to compete...i have a decent athletic physique...i am not big...i dont claim to be big...and im not an elite sportsman...am i taking everything too seriously? I dont think there is a problem with me being committed and dedicated to what i do...but have i let it take over my life?

I cant remember the last time i had some sweets or some cookies or some ice cream or something that i walked past in a shop and thought yeh that would be nice to eat.

Any help or your view would be great...thank you.

My guess is if you can't bring yourself to eat a cookie that you want then your problem is much bigger than food. So what else is going on?

I feel you, you don't want to waste any hard work over a bit of candy. Noone needs that processed food. Just stick to your plan, try to present some healthy/protein food to your gf like salmon with a salad or something.

    Hey

I like you have been eating pretty clean as well for about the last 2 years. 2 weeks ago i decided I needed a break and ceased all my training (was overdue anyway) and decided i would stop counting calories. For the last 2 weeks I've allowed myself to eat things I haven't eaten in a long while (ice cream, chocolate, pizza etc...). I feel amazingly invigorated now. In the 2 weeks I put on a couple of Kg's, but my motivation is back up! Give it a try.
I love lifting so much that i wanna take it behind the school building and get it pregnant!

What the hell is "clean", anyway? It sounds like a religion.
Wondering where to start? Confused? "Homework 1" will get you started.

Think you're ready for the "next step"? Take this test.

Yea you have a problem...big or small we don't know. But yea if you can't relax or if its this much of an issue then you have a problem. Shit if you've been eating "clean" for that long you could probably stand to benefit from a few days of dietary debauchery if you're working out high intensity 4 to 5 times a week. How many calories are you eating on these days might I ask?
