it's always best to vary your protein sources. there is no need or benefit from using single sources for the majority of macro calories, it's the leading cause of long-term nutrient deficiencies in the diet. all foods have different nutrient profiles which is why a variety of foods should always be consumed.

lots of proteins to choose from:

    low fat dairy
    eggs
    lean beef
    pork
    poultry
    seafood
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

cottage cheese sucks and greek yogurt does too. Shit, Lean meat....it's not like there's alot of things out there to choose from. It get's boring when you're trying to cut. It eventually becomes an energy source and not an emotional source.

yeah not sure why you're sticking to this one thing? is this just for snacks? or you incorperating it into your meals?

assuming its just snacks, try cheese cubes, lunch meat, nonfat greek yogurt is my new ish... taste like sour cream but you get used to it, protein shakes...

Throw some canned pineapple in the cottage cheese. The whole can, juice and all. It tastes ten times better. It's probably not the best for you but I can't eat just plain CC.

Don't that kind of defeat the purpose? I mean isn't canned fruit packed full of sugar?

Yes it does have a lot of sugar but at least you get the protein from it. I was just giving an alternative to help with the taste. Wasn't meant to be a perfect solution.

I know you were trying to help. If the guy is cutting there's no way he is going to want to take in that much sugar. Fresh pineapple would be far superior to something out of a can.

An 8 oz can of pineapple contains 16 grams of sugar. Yes, fresh fruit is definitely a better alternative. Maybe try some fresh peaches or blueberries.

That's actually lower than I would have guessed. Probably still too high for a person on a serious cut though. I think keeping it under 5 grams per meal is the rule of thumb, and that's even for a lot of people not cutting.

I try to avoid canned fruits whenever possible. what I do is I get some fresh fruit, such as plums, apples, bananas, strawberries or even kiwi. I will take the fruit of choice (red plums is best), cut it in bitesize pieces, put into small saucepan and cook on low heat. This is called stewed plums (fruit). You may want it somewhat firm, or really soft, but either way, it tastes really good drizzled on top of the cottage cheese.
