    Cool Late night cravings?

I'm trying 2 cut up a little & 4 the most part I'm doing pretty well. I eat fairly clean & I've cut out most of the junk I used to eat. I eat alot more protien than I used to. I now eat smaller portions but more often & I've lost 6 kgs in about a month The only problem is very late at night, just b4 I go 2 sleep I crave junk food. I sometimes give in 2 these urges, other times I fight them & go 2 sleep craving. When I do this I always wake up absolutely starving 4 junk food. This happens just about every night. What can I do 2 stop this? It's true I lost weight but now I've plateaued & I'm afraid I wont lose anymore fat whilst I crave these rubbish foods at night. Why can I go without all day no worries, but at night (the worst time 4 it) I crave so bad?

Two words...cottage cheese. It digests slowly so it'll keep you fuller thru the night and it's good for you.

Try skipping breakfast, eating fewer - but larger - meals and leave a large portion of your calories for late at night.

    That's what I do. Helps a ton!

I was told that if you get hungry to have a bag of almonds in your bag or purse. I think the same goes if your in bed or on the couch and the sudden urge comes over you. I also think that the use of cut or fresh vegetables goes a long way for those times. Of course all fo this is great to talk about, but doing it is the key. My problem, I have those crackers, you know the ones, Trisquit I think their called, anyhow, toasted garlic and others like: rosemary with cracked pepper. Take that and dip then peanut butter and the trouble begins.

Otherwise, the other story is to have dried apricots, they are another one that is good for you and snacking is "somewhat" a less burden.
Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but Cabbage with a College Education.

I've actually gotten up in the middle of the night and cooked and eaten a full meal. I was bulking at the time, but when I gotta eat, I gotta eat. Not much for little snacks and such. Always liked full meals.

You never had a craving? I guess, what I want to say is, you never want little?

Gee, I guess the old saying stands true: Some people are just blessed with it. I get the guilt complex, once I stick something in my mouth, even if it is healthy.

New issue, if anyone would like to voice: I have a party for Christmas coming up, and I will need to have sweets, for I am assigned desserts and liquor. I was thinking of making a lot of different cookies, and fudge. This is a like major calories, not more on the end of my sin, but should I really consider healthy sorts or be a bad santa and make them "Sinful?"

If I’m craving some junk food at night I usually eat a couple handfuls of Trail Mix or an Almond, Sunflower Seed, and Cranberry Mix. Both have some sweetness to them. I’m also a big fan of my own nuts and eating nuts. As many people know monounsaturated fats found in nuts have shown to increase testosterone and lower LDL cholesterol.

Get some sugar free Metamucil.Mix a couple tablespoons with a large glass of water and slam it down real fast.It has an orange flavor and you will be so full you won`t be craving anything afterwards.

I used to have those late night cravings, too. Usually it was either for something salty or sweet (which means a type of imbalance). It helped when I would have ahead of time some celery, and I put some peanut butter in them, or some cauliflower and carrot sticks with some Ranch dressing for yummy dipping. Try something like that to see if it helps.

Dang it, now I have cravings for trail mix. I know that would be nice snack.
I used to eat the knid with the oats in it. Anyone have a few good trail mix recipes (put togethers)?

What a unique idea, Merkaba! Let's keep repeating it now. Maybe he just needs to read it as frequently as BB.com spouts the "six meals a day" mantra!

Almonds are good even just a glass of milk sometimes satisfies me at night.....

What I sometimes do though is leave my whey protein shake for my "dessert" or snack when Im craving sweets. They usually taste pretty good just do it up pretty hard. Get a nice chocolate whey protein. Add some milk, peanut butter in there...Some ice to turn it into a smoothie, maybe add some fruit

Put it in a fancy cup with a straw and it'll feel like your having a milkshake....even eat it with some almonds.......yogurt in there too if you wanted. Lots of things you can do
