    My breakfast this morning, what do y'all think?

    Ok, so here's what I made this morning. I make this quite often.

    Basically it's scrambled eggs.

    4 egg whites - 2 whole eggs (so 6 total).

    FF shredded cheese - just however much seems ok. i don't measure or anything

    Cut up some sliced ham and throw it in there also.

    salt and pepper.

    Fry it up in a skillet with FF non stick spray and chop it all up, scrambled style.

    then a bagel toasted and topped with natural PB - crunchy of course!

    Glass of O.J. - I have to have this junk...it's like an addiction, I don't function unless I get that sweet OJ taste in the morning. Ahhh, nectar of the gods, of which I am one! jk

    Lots of sugar, lots of fat, lots of carbs, not much protein. In the morning though maybe its ok, since that is your kick start meal of the day. I used to have I think 11 egg whites and 2 whole eggs. NEVER SALT (I dont like it), pepper I love, and then salsa on top! Milk or water (now only water).

    11??? damn...haha this fills me up pretty well. I don't think I could possibly eat any more than this! The sugar is mainly in the OJ I know. I only recently started eating the bagel. Typically I would eat just some whole wheat bread or something.

    Hey there

    I think the "experts" would say to add more eggwhites and ditich the OJ and replace the bagel with some oatmeal instead. PB in oats is VERY delish:

    But again, are you bulking, cutting or maintaining? That would determine how "good" your Breaky is

    Hmm, well if by bulking you mean trying to gain 40lbs of muscle then no..hehehe..I'm just trying to gain a little more muscle so as not to look so wimpy. And it seems to be working fairly well. I'm not huge, but I look better. If i had some pics, I would post them..but alas, I don't

    Also, factor into the equation the fact that I'm a college student with no freakin' money lol. I can't be going out and buy egg whites every other day.

    Oh, yeah..and like they say - A glass of OJ keeps the cancer away!

    LOL, BUT the money you would save by NOT buying OJ can be used to buy more eggs

    Diet is different for everyone, if your really lightweight and you need all that fat and carbs then that would be different from my own needs.

    OJ = sugar
    Bagel = carbs
    PB = carbs and fats, some protein
    Egg yolk = 5g fat 2.85g protein
    Egg white = 3.5g protein (dont forget the sodium as well), carb content in eggs is low.

    Ok, so what if I swap the PB for FF cream cheese? Or, could you suggest something instead of the bagel? And don't forget, I usually add some ham or some sort of meat to the eggs along with FF shredded cheese.

    OJ has antioxidants (the cancer thing), i'll give you that, but all that sugar is definitely not worth it.

    Your breakfast is way too carby/sugary with little fat, your protein seems okay'ish.

    The suggestions given are great, i suggest you re-think your diet, unless you want to gain a serious amount of fat.

    Ok, so I cut out the OJ? I hate milk, so I'll drink water. But what else could I eat instead of what I am eating? Say I cut out the bagel too. Just eggs? I do put meat and cheese in it...

    All Natural Peanut Butter (essentially ground peanuts) is chock full of protein, and I would think serves better than cream cheese. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Skim milk is also chock full of protein, and it tastes better (lighter) than any other kind of milk. The experts will tell you there is too much sugar, but I think the benefits far outweigh the cons, especially if you are more concerned in gaining, as opposed to cutting.

    Keep in mind, that this coming from a dieting rookie, however.

    freeman, I am here for you! I do not think there is anything wrong with having orange juice. However, I don't know much you are drinking. The serving size is 8 ounces and that does not seem like much in glass. I would say keep it to about 8 ounces or so and that's good. If you keep your sugar intake relatively low the rest of the day (no bagel!) you should be fine. IMHO, if you are not seriously cutting or training for a show or something like that, there is nothing wrong with drinking all natural, not from concentrate, paesturized orange juice. The lady has spoken.

    TRUE! hehe thanks! I'm not going for the mega-big, mega-cut, body building. I'm just trying to put on 10-15lbs of LBM. And NOT get fat or anything. I have a relatively high metabolism. I only drink one glass and it's not like a HUGE glass by any means. Ahh, you are my savior!
