    Vegetables

    Hi,

Which vegetables should you and shouldn't you count towards your calorie intake requirements/count?

Eg you could eat quite a lot of brocoli and spinach not not worry about the calories and carbs etc but root vegetables like potatoes and sweet potatoes you do?

Are mushrooms and eggplant something you need to account for cos i could eat alot of it!

Only reason im asking is that im on a cut and am watching my calorie intake.

    Thanks guys.

I usually count everything I eat towards my calorie intake. Just because something does not have as many calories doesn't mean you shouldn't count it. I don't count potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, etc., as a vegetable, but as a carbohydrate source. Broccoli, eggplant, and mushrooms I would count as a vegetable. I always factor in everything as part of my daily intake.

I count my calories. You mad? All carb sources especially. I have a low insulin sensitivity. Too many carbs=increased fat storage.

Most vegetables are low in carbs and high in fiber, you should aim for those. Broccoli, coliflower, cabbage are rich in vitamins and anti oxidants, and taste great!
