I am a football player half the year and a wrestler the other half, this causes a confliction, during football season i have to be a big bulky linebacker, then cut all the weight i put on to make wrestling weight, i have been doing it on my own for years but i think it is time to take advantage of supplements. All my friends/teammates do them and they seem to stack and cut more efficiently than i am. I am a freshman in college, was the top dog in high school, im looking to step my game up with the competition. Wrestling is starting, I am currently 240,18% BF (not official) and need to cut weight to around 200 as fast as possible. any help?
how long do you have till the season starts? if its soon. imo it would be to just get your cardio up and wrestle heavy weight... my opinion would be straight after football season change your workout program to hard interval training/circuit training 3x week and wrestle at least an hour a day 5-6x week. drills one day then live the next. because you workout totally different for football than wrestling which you prob already know. i dont believe in big weight cuts. makes you week and tired and dehydrated. plus alot of HW move slow so if your a linebacker you should be strong and fast already. just need wrestling cardio and technique now. hope this helps
As soon as you start wrestling the weight will start peeling off. It's a lot more intense than football. Eat clean, take in 200-250 g of protein and cut carbs down. Eliminate fast carbs like sugars. You can add a good whey isolate to get enough protein. That ans a good multivitamie is really all you need. No need to buy into any gimmicks. Big thing is to keep your protein high and carbs to a minimum. That way you can tap into your fat stores and preserve your muscle mass. You have to run a calorie deficit obviously but that should not be hard when training for wrestling.
