    I'd agree.. And if you're going to cut your calories back, the first place you should do it is by cutting back on our Carbs.

    To lose " weight " a calorie defecit will only allow you to lose. You have to burn more calories than you are taking in. Regardless of where it's coming from ( P/C/F ).

    a low calorie diet should be low in carbs.
    I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

    To lose weight you need to run a caloric deficit therefore low cal is important but within the low cal...I find a low carb, high protein diet helps to increase fat loss and hold onto muscle.

    Not necessarily. One can lose weight on a diet that restricts only carbs, regardless of caloric intake. That mercola article DP posted shows the evidence. I am sure if one consumes 10,000 cals over maintenance that they will gain anyway, but most people can eat over maintenance and drop weight via an ultra low carb diet with weekly carb ups.

    Did the article mention whether it was actual fat or muscle loss or whether it was just water/glycogen loss?
