    cheese as an EFA?

Can cheese be used as a primary EFA source and a secondary protein source?

Im aware it contains alot of sodium, but it contains less than a gram of carbs and sugars...

It can be used as a fat source in a meal yes, it's not "essential" though.

EFA sources are genenally plant derived (if not all plant derived, correct me if I'm wrong). Animal derived fats - though super yummi such as in STEAK! - are hard to digest.

Whats the difference between that and say flax oil or natural pb?

And are there any reasons why someone on a low-carb diet should not eat cheese?

    sorry didnt see that post.

clpgold: what your saying is that because the fats in cheese are animal fats, they wont digest and just get stored as fat?

Alright, I am correcting myself. All EFA's are NOT plant derived, such as fatty oils from fish.

I'm no expert on EFA's but I would assume the biggest difference between flax and natural pb would be the amounts of saturated fats and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.

Again, not exactly sure, even though I've got a great book on all that stuff. Need to read that one day...

I don't think the fats in cheese are considered essential because our body already has it or produces it.

So is the fat derived from cheese as bad as saturated fat?
