    Diet assistance puuuuulease

So I really enjoy reading through the diet section because there are some super knowledgable people (built is one of them I see posting regularly) that give good advice, and I believe that I am in need of some. Also, I am aware the diet is probably the most important thing when it comes to building muscle.

Ok so I am 6 feet tall and currently 215 pounds. My bodyfat percentage is in the 12-14% range and I am running my first cycle of test only.

Now, I am currently in week 7 of my cycle and when I started I was weighing in at 203 pounds.

Here is the diet that I have basically been using since day 1 of my cycle. When I say basically, I mean that one meal here and there will get replaced with another good meal, example chicken and rice swapped with baket potato and fish, you get the point

    total calories: 4,500
    total protein: 350 grams
    total carbs:520 grams
    total fats:120 grams

breakfast: 3 whole eggs/3 egg whites/2 packets sugar free oatmeal/1 glass orange juice

snack: 1.5 scoops optimum nutrition whey/peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat

lunch: 1.5 cups rice/6 ounces chicken breast/apple/half cup almonds

meal: shake...1 cup milk/2 cups oats/1.5 scoops whey

    -workout-

    post workout shake: 2 scoops whey/roughly 80 grams dextrose/creatine

meal: 2 cups wheat pasta/2 cans tuna

before bed: 1 cup cottage cheese (nonfat)/ 2 tbsp peanut butter

NOW LISTEN UP the reason for using protein powder for my snack, as well as protein powder for my pre workout meal is due to time constraints. I am at work during these times and I do not have the privelage of taking time out to eat a nice solid meal so I work with what I am given. I feel that I am still taking in enough solid food.

Now, my question is should I increase my total calories and macros since my weight has gone up from 203 to 215? Any help would be appreciated it. I have never gained weight this fast (first cycle) so that is why I am unsure of what to do.

The only thing that comes to mind just scanning is are you digesting all those carbs ok? Do you get any veggies in there? Fiber is VERY useful.

Yes, digestions is fine. I do get vegetables, though...Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday I do not lift and one of my meals is a homecooked meal from a family member on each of those days. Each of these meals consists of vegetables.

I mean I was thinking of possibly adding in 2 or 3 more cups of milk throughout the day as well as adding another peanut butter sandwich to my "snack"meal but even doing that would raise my protein up even more and I feel that it is high enough already. Hmmmm I think it's time to eat

Are you still gaining weight? If so, leave it alone until you stop.

A few points - eat the whole egg; no need to ditch the yolks. Ditch the juice though - fruit juice is basically liquid candy; fructose you do NOT need - it elevates blood lipids and you're taking something that does that all by itself.

I'm definitely not wasting any eggs. I bought egg whites in addition to whole eggs.

So, just eat 6 whole eggs in the morning and cancel the egg whites?

Also, I failed to mention that I have been at this weight for 2 and a half/3 weeks now. That is why I wrote this thread.

Also, drop the orange juice gotcha...Replace it with milk??

    Thanks Built

Finish up the whites - they're protein. If you prefer to eat them this way, go for it. I just don't want you tossing any food.

Milk would be an excellent sub for juice. Basically minimize your fructose consumption. It's Teh Devil.

Okay, I also think that I should increase my carbs. I personally require an abundance of them to grow. Got any tips for adding a good amount of carbs? i sure hope you do.

Basically I am revising my diet and dropped the orange juice. I made my lunch 2 cups of rice rather than 1.5 and I am sitting at 500 carbs. I know I need more than that.

Rice, potatoes, dextrose... you cook at all? I make kheer - rice pudding - from rice, dextrose and milk. It's delicious, and loaded with carbs and calories. Got Built? » Kheer – it’s not just for bodybuilders anymore…

It's always a good time for coconut milk. ™

Oh and the kheer, sure. You'll get an insulin response from it though, but you knew this already.
