Exclamation Real food or supp after workout

I was wondering, is it better to eat real food (chicken breast, sweet potato) after a workout or is it better to have an MRP. I was just wondering because I know real food is always better but doesn't your muscles need the nutrients asap after a workout meaning an MRP would be better.

Due to digestive times, a pre-workout real-food meal may be a better idea than a post w/o shake.

If you can afford protein powder/MRP then go for that. If money is tight, eat a relatively small meal (complex in nature) about 30-60 minutes before training.

Maybe even sip on gatorade during the workout.

I agree, you would be better off with a MRP post work-out because the protein can be utilized quicker.

Why not do a slin spike (~13-15g simple sugars) immediately post workout and follow 3omin later w/ whey for fast absorbtion? Then have a real meal say 1-1.5 hr later.

Ironically, there are studies showing that you get more of an insulin response from a combination of protein and glucose than you do the same amount of glucose alone.

Yeah, you'd think. That's why i said "ironically".

But let's face it, the GI is flawed to shit anyway.

It's probably got something to do with protein powders digesting so quick and being oxidised by the liver.
