hey friends,
I have recently diagnosed with the heart diseases so my doctor has advise me to reduce my
cholesterol level in the body
so please suggest me what kind of food should I avoid to reduce cholesterol(le cholesterol)

There are several different studies that prove different things. Studies contradict each other pretty often. The same thign has been said about shrimp and other seafood as well not affecting cholesterol. Just read the labels to be safe. Everyones body is different and is going to repsond differently. also if you drinking why protein shakes really watch teh cholesterol, some of them ahve unreal high amount of cholesterol.

Dietary cholesterol has little to do with blood cholesterol unless you are predisposed. Such as yourself.
I disagree with the eggs causing cholesterol to increase but I don't have cholesterol problems. So, what to avoid is pretty obvious. Stay away from shit foodAvoid prepared and prepackaged meats such as luncheon meats, fast food, bacon, hotdogs, sausage etc. Cut back on dairy items. Eat more whole grains, fruits and veggies and keep with lean meats such as fish, turkey, chicken, elk, ostrich, bison.....
Add foods like oats, almonds, olive oil, glass or 2 of red wine a couple times a week.

Mine dropped like a stone on the Atkins diet.
Fructose is probably the biggest culprit. Drop that and watch your cholesterol plummet.

Check this article from the Mayo Clinic:
Cholesterol-lowering supplements: Lower your numbers without prescription medication

(it doesn't copy /paste very well).
And also: Herbal supplements: Can they interact with heart medications?

If you've already been prescribed heart medication.

You should avoid fatty foods. These are beef, chicken (specially its skin), cheese, butter, oily foods, fried foods, burgers and fast food products. I suggest that you take exercise to burn those fats in your body.

Mine is quite high, and my Doctor said its mostly heredity, I could eat grass for a year and it wouldnt budge allot.
Those articles that Sassy put are very interesting since I'd rather not take crestor for the rest of my life

Mine is the same way. He basically told me no matter how healthy I eat my bad cholesterol will be high. He said I'll be on simvastatin till the day I die. I've found that since I started taking the meds I can eat whatever I want and I stay in a safe range. You gotta play the hand you got dealt so make the best of it.

Very few people know that cholesterol under 300 has little value as an indicator of cardiac risk. in fact some studies show that moderately higher cholesterol levels may be predictive of better cardiac health. The more accurate indicator may be triglycerides and they are affected by high carbohydrate diets most common in the Western world. I would suggest limiting carbohydrates to good sources and less than 200-250 g per day.
