fish oil absorption- fibres and fats.

    Hi

When maximising the absorption of my omega 3 fish oil supplements. I hear its best to take it with a meal, mainly as other fats assist in absorption. On the other hand i hear fibres hinder the absorption.

So exactly how much fibre would hinder a 1000mg fish oil capsule?
    or
whats the minimum of fat needed to assist absorption?- would a glass of milk with a tbs coconut oil do the trick?

    cheers

I did a search on google, and found that: fiber blocks absorption of fat.
In your case, you would want to avoid the fiber to increase the
absorption. I cannot find reputable numbers after this quick search, but
I would say that it is probably minimal.

One thing that I have heard is that it is better to get your omega-3
fats from seafood rather than from supplements.

I have always liked Carlsons Cod Liver Oil supplement, though.
This product has the least amount of additives and has been around
forever. Although, sometimes I wonder about the impact of the
    Chernobyl disaster way back when.

I have also thought that you should take fat supplements at a time
that isn't near your workout so that it is not used for energy and
is instead synthesized by your body.
