Anyone eat ALL there carbs post workout when cutting?
Aside from a muscle milk shake I have for breakfast with about 16 carbs...I'm planning on consuming all my other carbs post workout...
It would be...
50g Maltodetrin
10g of carbs from my protein shake
1 banana(~20-25g)
So about 80-85carbs post workout(about 100g total/day)
Typically I consume carbs at breakfast, pre, and post workout but I'm thinking I may try to consume all my carbs post workout when insulin sensitivity is at it's highest. I've also been using Xtend (BCAAs) during my workout.
Just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts or opinions on this...my idea is to keep insulin levels as low as possible throughout as much of the day as possible(including pre workout and throughout my workout) to maximize fat-burning.
I typically start drinking my post workout shake during the end of my workout.
If you find yourself feeling weak during your training, you may be well served to get a bit of carbs in before or during your training. If you are accustomed to training with carbs, you may need a few days to adjust to your new, carb-less approach -- keep that in mind when you make the change.
Why bother with the carbs in the morning? Also, why bother with the BCAAs during training? I presume that you aren't training fasted.
I've always wondered about the AM carbs thing. Unless you train in the AM, what a useless time to waste them - all they're going to do is pop you out of ketosis and make you hungrier.

Yeah the carbs in the morning are just because I bought a delicious Muscle Milk mix to have for breakfast to save time...
It does have 16 carbs in it 5 of which come from fiber, I figured it wouldn't be all that bad even when on a very low carb diet since insulin sensitivity is supposed to be higher in the AM and it's such a small amount of carbs.
Marat, I wasn't really a believer in BCAA's for a long time but I do think they can be beneficial when calories are restricted(same as additional protein).
To be honest, the Xtend BCAA supplement that I use seems to help with my endurance during my workouts. I also take an eca stack pre-workout which is obviously a huge "booster" but since adding the Xtend I've noticed better energy, pumps, and less fatigue...placebo or not I've definitely noticed a difference.
Built,
Doesn't it take some time to go into a state of ketosis?
Just wondering, as I thought that was something that occured after complete depletion of all glycogen stores over the course of a few days...not necessarily something that would occur if one consumed carbs daily. Even if those carbs were consumed at of specific time and in smaller amounts as in my situation.

I don't think so - I'm pretty sure healthy normal people have some level of ketones in their blood when they sleep, but it might not show up on a ketostick.
I've gone into ketosis after a hike on a morning where I had bagels for breakfast.
