Protein and dextrose right after(some advice to take if after half an hour) the workout. You can take your meal about an hour after that.

Good advice! Some fast digesting protein (preferably whey) and a fast digesting carb source (maltodextrin, dextrose, waxi maize). Drink your post workout shake immediately after your workout and then have a whole food meal an hour later.

Protein shake in the car on the way home from the gym (5 minutes), immediately followed by a solid meal as soon as I walk in the door.

Liquid is more easily digested by your body. With this in mind
it is sensible to then believe that a liquid is less likely to
interrupt the processes in place from a workout.

I personally feel sick when I eat solid foods after a workout,
and also when I drink more than ~350 mL.

Things usually reach normalcy after about an hour and a half.

    Maybe this is just me?

Here is an article I dug up that looks at this topic more scientifically.
