You're eating at maintenance. Lower your calories.

There's nothing to calculate. He's neither gaining nor losing. That's the definition of maintenance.

I did a quick math equation with his maintenance numbers and came up with 2250. Must have a high burning metabolism if it's staying the same. Hmmm.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. Low carb to me is below 50g daily.

Yeah, I thought that my maintenance was 2200 and I was on -300 cut but maybe I was wrong.
I am ectomorph (if u believe in those somatotypes), I am a student and dont have a very active life yet I have troubles gaining weight. Lately I have discovered that I had to stay high on carbs to gain weight (350g), so didn't wanna cut too much on carbs.
Anyway I will try to cut 200 more calories hopefully I won't go under basal metabolic rate.

How do you get down to that many carbs? 1 cup of rolled oats has more than that in it.

I ask because I'm trying to cut and I have trouble staying around 90g. Do you cut out all pasta, bread, cereal, etc?

Dropping that low is a matter of sheer willpower at first. It gets easier, but at first it sucks. I've dieted keto style on trace amounts (PSMF) and it sucks all hell. On other diets similar to a keto approach, I've done as much as 40g a day at the beginning of the week and by that same Friday, I took in well over 900g of carbs alone. In fact, I will be starting another 12 weeks of low carb dieting to shred and get ready for a goal that I've been playing with for quite a while-4% fat.

In 3 weeks at -300 cals you'd expect to lose about 2 pounds. There are 3500 cals in a pound of fat, so it'll take you a week and a half to lose one pound. Two pounds is within normal daily variance, so you should really have a hard time telling that you're losing anything at all.
