    What should my friend do?

Ok guys, need your help here cuz I"m no expert and I trust ya'll..

I have a buddy who wants to start getting serious about lifting and getting "big"..so he says..

Anyways, he's worried about diet and nutrition. He wants to get big...right now I think he's like 6'1-ish...165lbs-ish...he knows he needs to eat a ton, but doesn't want to get fat...so, should he watch what he eats? or can he eat whatever he wants? he has a fairly high metabolism, obviously...I dunno what to tell him, I would say to eat wise...healthy..but then again, I don't know a whole lot...so, basically, should he watch out for the desserts and burgers when he goes out to eat? or are they ok?

Thanks guys, your help will keep him from buggin me on this anymore!!!

Yes...obviously he has to watch what he eats if he doesn't want to gain fat. He needs to slowly increase his calories, and he can probably get away w/ a dessert once in a while, but he definitely still needs to watch what he eats...or else he WILL get fat.

If he wants to bulk up, and add weight, he's going to add fat.

    Some simple advice:

    6 small meals a day

atleast 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight (to build muscle)

    He should have about 3300 calories a day. (165 lbs x 20)

    Hope this helps a bit
