    Pinto beans for bigger pumps...

I am clean bulking and was looking for a cheap carb source. I bought a bag of pinto beans for the week and did 55g of carbs with eggs 1st meal and 55g carbs with chicken 3rd meal prior to working out.

Within 2 or 3 days I noticed I had huge pumps in the gym and my muscles felt and looked pumped throughout the day. When the beans ran out I went back to oats. After about 2 days the pumps were not as good and I didn't feel pumped throughout the day anymore.

I know it has to do with all the fiber in the beans. Has anyone else experienced this with beans.

If not try it for a week and see if you get the same results.

(Just warn the girlfriend or the Ol lady)

Well, could be the glycemic load, too. Oats are about 60, beans 15. Plus, if you consider oats to be all carbs, you'd be off. Beans are 4:1:0 carbsrotein:fat, while oats are about 4:1:1, meaning you get a bunch of fat calories in with your oats that you don't get with beans. Beans are also somewhat high in purines, although probably not in a significant enough amount to affect your pumps.
