    steak

I'm a putz when it comes to different steaks and what they are called. I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow and blow my whole paycheck..I want to pick up a good steak...good to me means REALLY tender and full of flavor...I had an amazing filet minion recently and would love to duplicate that, but they never have "filet minion" in the meat section of Publix. So, what do I get?

also, do they make any low/no sugar steak sauces that are good?

I'm sick of chicken and tuna and salmon...I"m looking to eat something yummy and different and since I'm bulking, I figure I can eat a good steak..

Go back to the meat counter and ring the bell. Most will cut them for you. You need them to be at least 2" think to be juicy and tender. I usually get about 4 at a time for my family and they run about $50. The girls at the checkout think I'm crazy. But damn that is some good meat!!

Ahh, I asked my mom, and she said 'tenderloin' is basically what I want if I want really good, tender and flavorful steak. So, looking at that chart, it looks like the one with the most fat. Eh, oh well. I love me a steak and I never eat any, so I can ONCE in a while

Not necessary a barbecue sauce, but low in sugar:
Montreal Steak Spice, it will kick up your steak a few notches. Only problem is sodium content. I think!

Freeman...remember that Tenderloin appeared to be higher in fat than the round versions on w8's post but all cuts listed in that post are acceptable....there are several cuts that are much higher in fat content that tenderloin...obviously those cuts were not listed.
    Searching for the right balance...
