    costco, worth it?

For all of you Costco fans out there, is it worth it? I eat tons of beef/chicken/fish..so I'm thinking of getting a membership so I can buy in bulk and save $$$

How much does their steak/chicken etc usually run? If it sounds appealing enough, I'm out the door ASAP

    WORD. I have a Sam's and a BJ's.

Purdue boneless chicken breast: $4.99/lb in the grocery store, $2.29/lb in the warehouse club. Even when Stop and Shop sells it Buy One Get One Free, the membership club is still cheaper.

Oh, they also sell DVD's at great prices.

Go visit a Costco store, the person at the front will usually let you in if you tell them that you're there to check out the selection and thinking of joining.

Chicken - I'm not sure what the weight is, but you can buy a package of boneless/skinless chicken breast between $10-$15, each package has around 10-12 breasts.

    Steaks - Filet Mignon; a pack of 4 steaks about 2" thick..between $15-$22. Sirloin; 6 steaks (big cuts) $15-$22.

Canned Tuna; pack of 10 cans, is about $4 and change.

Ground Sirloin patties (18 patties/6lbs) is about $5

Turkey Burgers all white meat (16 patties) is also about $5

    Eggs; 5 dozen (60 eggs!!) about $4

Oatmeal; 7lb box of Quaker Oats (100% natural/no flavor) $5

I rounded off most of the prices, I'm not sure if it's different in certain areas. There are also the fruits and veggies. Plus, if you're into protein bars they have several brands to choose from.

Since its the ONLY place I can get what I want really, its ABSOLUTELY worth the $45 sign up, it used to be $30 not that long ago.

I get bags of boneless skinless chicken breast there, and they have tons of other stuff to consider too, I'm not too huge on fish these days other than canned tuna though. I belive its $2.18 a pound for my chicken.

They sell eye of round roast, 3 to a pack for around $18. (I get them and slice them into 3oz steaks).

I think the chicken breast packs are a good deal, as others mentioned.

Most of the meats are priced pretty well.

The Kirkland branded Tuna is packaged for Costco by Bumblebee, and a bit cheaper than the other brands.

They almost always have Salmon, trout in the non frozen section, and other kinds in the frozen section.

I picked up some buffalo meat in the frozen section the other day.
Some kind of meatballs in BBQ sauce, so the carbs are 25g, but that's the BBQ sauce. We're eating them tonight, so I'll let you guys know how they taste.

I think it's worth the $45. You can make that up in one purchase if you buy something big like a TV. They have pretty good deals on inkjet cartriges (not as good as online, but better than anywhere else around my parts.)

Point is, you can save money on other things besides food.
