Ok I understand to cut you eat 500 below maintenece level. How do you eat if your trying to lose fat and still build muscle even if it's slowly? Currently I train to failure where I'm sore for a couple days if I'm in a low calorie deficit what is happening to the muscle? I'm eating 2200-2400 cals a day always atleast 200 gram of protien carbs between 150-200 fat 40-65 some days might only get 2000cal and others 2600cal maintenance is around 2900.

Thanks getting ready to bulk for next 30days them go back to below maintenance just to shake things up a bit. Probably won't gain over 6-8lbs but my body should be primed to lose when I cut food back.
