    Carbs from sugar

When planning your diet (daily carb allowance) do you treat carbs from sugars the same as slow burning carbs?

    Smores pop tarts rule.

With the exception of my postWO shake, I try to avoid simple sugars all together.

same here, yes carbs are carbs but sugar impacts blood insulin differently than slow burning carbs. I too avoid sugars, apart from fruit, and stick to whole-grains, veggies etc

I have always treated them the same. You wouldn't want all of your carbs to come from sugar, but some pop-tarts won't hurt if you fit them into your macros.

I also, do not eat any refined sugars, and stay away from a lot of those natural hidden sugars found in fruit. I only eat about 20 to 30 carbs a day not including the good carbs from all of the veggies.

Glucose, aka dextrose, is fine. Sucrose on the other hand is half fructose. This I try to avoid whenever possible.
