I'm attempting to do something new I've never done, a cut. I'm currently cyclying.
6 ft, 200 pounds, 12-13% BF.
I'm looking to cut some more fat on cycle, while gaining lean muscle. What would you recommend as far as diet and cardio? Doing cardio on a empty stomach a bad idea? I obviously don't want to burn muscle and burn off that fat.
the empty stomach thing is a debate, even amongst gurus. though it is generally agreed it is best on empty, i would infer you do whatever you feel comfortable with. without pics , your stats tells me you probably very little muscle mass under the fat. Might be better building a little bit more muscle before cutting from 12% bf.
i actually seen people fight (physically) while debating about this....
as far as diet, im quite confident that it really varies from person to person which one suits them best. some experimentation while following the general guides will probably be a good idea
good luck!
If you prefer doing cardio on an empty stomach then go for it.. You won't be "burning muscle" as you're essentially working off the carbs you ate from the previous day.. Keep your macros in check and meet them consistently every day and you will see results.. Consistency is KEY! I personally prefer a -500cal/day deficit from maintenance for cutting with a refeed once a week.. Works wonders!
