    Hello

Hi everyone, I'm a new gal, and I'm trying to lose some weight and get some definition. I was wondering if anyone has some good diet suggestions. I'm a vegetarian(I know, lame) and not willing to budge on that. I've been mostly doing beans and brown rice, but my taste buds are boooored! I eat cereal or oatmeal in the morning. Fruits and broccoli for snacks. I need more variety. Suggestions?

Vegetarian's have a tendancy to go "catabolic" where the body feeds off the muscle for fuel. Find a really fast acting whey protein-maybe hydrolyzed whey? At night, you need a slow acting protein w/extended release values, such as cottage cheese or Casein fillers. Other than that, yuour looking at a gram of protein per bodypound -half coming from fillers--and the other half from whole food protein (macro nutients)..Being a vegetarian, it's really hard to get quality musscle due to the lack of hormonal nutrients you don't get! Good luck!!!

Thanks guys. I do eat eggs, I forgot about them, I often don't buy eggs because I don't eat them fast enough, but that's a good suggestion. I've thought about protein powder, but don't know much about what's in it and what's a good powder to try. Also, if it tastes bad and you have to drink a lot I might have trouble forcing it down...

Well if you are looking to gain muscle you def want to get whatever protein you can in. I eat aloooot of eggs and drink alooot of protein. I would suggest looking up some protein powders and see what sounds best to you. Im very picky about protein taste and i prefer myofusion chocolate or strawberry flavor, i also like dymatize elite chocolate..those are the easiest for me to drink. How do you currently workout?
