I'm not a body builder either.
Some around here are, some are looking to get fit, some are staying fit, and so much more ....
What you are trying to do is cut. Good for you. Age, weight, height.
If you are on a cut, you can lift hard and not bulk. You can also do cardio to help burn calories. I am a believer in resistance work, supplemented with cardio, to loose body fat.
The big player in the equation though is diet. Nutrition, ie; carbs, protein and fat.
