im no expert but im sure most would recommend that you trim down to maybe 12% body fat or so, then if you want to pack on some muscle just level your diet out a bit then start a bulking diet with a nice clean meal plan and good lifting routine

Hey i recently noticed i was getting chubby.. basically gained alot of weight over the last year. i went from 180 to 223 in a year and a half. Im 6'5 29 years old. Yes being that tall and 180 i was skinny.. when i was 200 i was ok filled in a bit but it didnt stop from there.. Out came the belly and pants got smaller ect... so i decided it was time to change.. I started working out and doing cardio along with changing my diet! I went from eating heavy late and junk food and alot of beer to eating oatmeal in the morning with a multi vitamin. half hour later have my protien shake. Mid afternoon have a snack like 2 small containers of yogart.. Lunch id have tuna sandwhich with a ceasar salads with chicken and an apple.. late afternoon id have maybe another yogart or a small patty of turkey. THen shake work out shake and then eat a salad and chicken. Now i have gone from 223 to 211 in a month and a half.. which is ok.. belly is smaller but still there.. i know i will have to work hard to get rid of it.. but i want to know what should i change my diet to when wanting to build lean muscle.. im not trying to get massive here but some nice lean muscle.. should i continue this diet untill i get to maybe 205 then change it?? And what should i change my diet to to build muscle?

First thing you'll need to do is start tracking your diet on fitday.com
Post up what your macro's are (protein, fat, carbs) in grams and total calorie intake.
From there you can make a determinations what needs to added and what needs to be cut back on to get to your goals.

I agree with the fitday.com, it will help quite abit...& I suggest a keto with the macros 60%p/30%c/10%f.

ok so i went to fitday. its saying im doing 42 protien 36 carbs and 22 fat.

Also i take Protien in the am... with bio x vitamin.. and take protien before and after i work out.. and bcaa before i work out and after.

Just want'd to say that I made a mistake when I post'd those ratio's.. I meant 30%fat & 10%carb. sorry...
