Sweet Potatos=Yams(just don't get the canned ones)

Steel Cut oats can be found at health/nutrion stores. I have never seen them carried at a regular grocerey store.

You're right, they aren't the same thing however I have found that most supermarkets refer to their sweetpotatos as yams for some strange reason.

Thanx a million, w8! I printed this out this morning and took it with me after work. It made shopping a ton easier.

This a great thread. Give great ideas and the questions being asked are my thoughts exactly.

Not really....we don't go by GI or II as much as we go by "Tried and True"....the fruits Jodi mentioned are the only ones we eat, and always w/protein and fat...although our friends at Beverly contend a small amount of cantaloupe is ok

http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/sh...ght=cream+rheo (why cream)

http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/sh...ght=cream+rheo (whipping cream)

We get Old Fashioned or Steel cut.....for less processing than Instant oats, which in turn leads to more stable insuln levels when digested

They also have more fiber and GLA

It's the fatty portion of milk, with the majority of the lactose removed so that primarily the FAT remains.

1 T has approx 5 grams of fat, .5 to .7 grams of carbs and less than 1 gram of protein!

There was a search link in one of those links.....surely somewhere this is explained,

Think skim milk, then 1%, then 2 percent, then full fat, then 1/2 & 1/2 (half milk, half cream, then Heavy Cream! (never w/sugar added...that is sweet cream)
