    Casein or Whey

At the moment I am using Calcuim caseinate as a added source of protein it's £6.78 for a pouch but the pouch is only half full. Where as I can get whey for just over £11 when I get discount at GNC. I dunno what to do? I have just over half of the casein left and want to know what's better

    I am 18 in a month, I weight just over 128lbs ( I think) and I train twice a week,
    Diet:

Meal 1: Cereal, shake and a banana
Meal 2: Bacon, scrambled eggs and beans ( if I am at home bacon sandwich NO butter)
Meal 3 : Tuna and cheese sandwich & a banana
Meal 4: Same as meal three
Meal 5: Same as meal three
Meal 6: Casein shake (28g's of protein) & a banana

After work out meal :Casein shake and a banana

Your diet is not that great IMO. Your skinny, so you can get away with a few things that others (like me) can't, but you're still overdoing the sugars a little.

You also have to clarify some things for us.

What kind of cereal are you eating? With what kind of milk? How much of each? You'll probably need to drop the cereal and add some form of fat.

How much bacon, eggs and beans? Without you answering me, i think you should drop the bacon, the nitrites/nitrates are really not good for you, health wise. Also if you're eating the sandwich with white bread, switch to whole wheat.

You have no fat in your 3rd meal and again, if you're eating white bread switch it to whole wheat.

The casein is a good idea before bed time. If you want to switch to whey, you can eat cottage cheese before bed for your protein.

Overall, i think you're overdoing it on the bananas. I'd say limit your bananas to one maybe two a day, and switch the rest of your bananas to apples/berries. Or you can eat potatoes, sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal as carb sources instead of all of those bananas.

What about rice....?? Easy, simple to cook, don't have to heat it, can cook it in a large batch for the week (chose brown or wild over white)

Like mentionned...oatmeal, potato, sweet potato, apples, oranges, grapefruit, peaches/plums, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc..,..not to mention vegies....if you can't cook them buy canned or snack on things like baby carrots, celery, etc.

Add fat sources like flax oil, olive oil, nuts (walnuts, almonds, etc.), natural peanut butter, natural cheeses.

As for protein...you need more variety than tuna...chicken, turkey, ham, ground beef, steak, egg and egg whites, cottage cheese, fish, etc.

If you're looking for an easy way to add calories...try drinking some additional milk, add some beans/lentils to your rice.

Again...one or two bananas is ok but if you're going to eat more fruit add variety from fruits mentionned above.

Will try but I can't cram everything into my locker. What is flax oil? I use to bring chicken and potatoes with me to work, but half of it was eaten by the cleaning staff !!!!

Do a search on flax or check out this post, "Flax...Fish Oil...one or the other or both?" It should be floating around on the first page.

Basically flax is a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, they are the 'good fats' that everyone talks about on here, and have tons of benefits (health and bb'ing wise).

I think whey is better for post workout because it absorbs fast, and the casein can be used as a good time released protein in a meal replacement shake. So i'd use them both if you can afford it
